Dr Glynn Maynard

Dr Glynn Maynard is the honeybee and bee expert within the Office of the Chief Plant Protection Officer (OCPPO), in the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF). Dr Maynard received her PhD in entomology specialising in bees and pollination systems with particular reference to native Australian systems. Dr Maynard’s work in OCPPO has focused on many bee related issues such as the National Sentinel Hive Program, bumblebees, leaf cutter bees, honeybees as well as various pollination issues. Other areas of work in DAFF has included competency and capacity building in plant biosecurity, review and development of containment facilities requirements, biological control agents as well as the initiation and development of PaDIL. Additionally, Dr Maynard has worked in CSIRO, the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and the Forestry Department of the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations (FAO).
